Q   When does Viva Plus start?

A   January 2010

 

Q   What is Viva Plus?

A   A club offering short courses

 

Q   Why would I join?

A   The courses are designed to help you improve your employability

 

Q   How do I qualify for free Viva Plus membership?

A   To get 4 free sessions, enrol in:

     More than 10 weeks of any ELICOS program or any VET program (TESOL, Business)

 

Q   If I enrol for longer, do I get more sessions?

A   Yes, you get 4 more sessions for enroling in:

     10 more weeks in ELICOS or any additional VET course

 

Q   If I am not a Viva student, can I pay to join?

A   Yes, individual sessions are $40, a block of 4 is $120

 

Q   I am a Viva student, but do not qualify for free membership. Can I join?

A   Yes, you qualify for special rates. See Reception for details

 

Q   Do I pay an enrolment fee or materials fee to join Viva Plus?

A   No

 

Q   What type of courses are offered?

A    MYOB (non-accredited)

      IELTS practice exam (non-accredited)

      Process Payroll (accredited)

      Use Financial Records (accredited)

      Keyboard Skills (non-accredited)

      Spreadsheets (non-accredited)

      Business English (non-accredited)

 

Q   Do I receive a certificate or any qualifications?

A   For non-accredited courses, no.

     For accredited courses, yes, if you demonstrate competency.

     In this case you will receive a statement of attainment in a nationally-accredited program.

     You can also qualify for credit in certain qualifications.

 

Q   How long is each session?

A   2-3 hours

 

Q   Where can I get a timetable?

A   Classes run on Monday afternoon and evening. See our website for a timetable

 

Q   Can I choose to attend random sessions from different courses?

A   For non-accredited courses, yes.

     For accredited courses, you must enrol in the entire block of 4.

 

Q   How do I choose my sessions?

A   Sign in at Reception at least 5 working days before the class date.

     You must show your membership card first.

 

Q   Do I have to bring my membership card to the sessions?

A   Yes, you will not be allowed into class without your card

 

Q   If I lose my card, how do I replace it?

A   We will not replace lost, stolen ar damaged cards.

     If you want to continue membership, you will have to join again

 

Q   Does membership have an expiry date?

A   No, but we advise you to enrol soon, as we reserve the right to change courses

     without notice

 

Q   Is there a language requirement to join?

A   We recommend that students should be at Intermediate level or higher to get full

      advantage of their Viva Plus membership

 

Q   Can I get a refund or credit if I don’t use my membership?

A   No

 

Q   Do I need a special visa to join?

A   No. However attendance at Viva Plus courses can not and will not be used towards

     attendance records for a student visa
