The Diploma of Business studies is high quality course that was designed in consultation with the business faculties of some of Australia's top universities. This course provides the perfect pathway into second year university for a business related program*.
Course Content:
The program will expose you to business theories, concepts and models used in the business environment.
You will develop business skills by working on case studies, projects and a range of activities where you will be assessed against the competency standards specified for the qualification.
Graduating students qualify for up to 80 credit points, the equivalent to one year of study at university, depending on the choice of degree program and provider.
Past graduates have gone onto the Bachelor of Business at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the Bachelor of Commerce with an accounting major at Griffith University.
Course Length:
42 weeks, 20 hours of study per week
Course Intake Dates:
2008 - 11 February, 21 April, 30 June, 8 September
2009 - 16 February, 6 May, 20 July, 5 October

Course Cost:
$6,800 (Until 30 June 2008) plus $160 enrolment fee.
$7800 (from 8 September 2008 intake).
Diploma students will be expected to obtain some text books, which cost approximately $800 if purchased new, but these can be rented at the local library.
Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of year 12 or Equivalent level.
IELTS 5.5 or Equivalent Level (no band below 5.0).
Viva College Students - Successful completion of Viva College's EAP (with minimum of C level Pass)
Offshore Students - Must present an IELTS score or the Equivalent Level of an internationally recognised English Proficiency Test (Eg. TOEFL, TOEIC).
Local Students - Must sit the Entry Test which is conducted every Tuesday at 3.00pm prior to commencing the course.
Articulation Pathways:
*Successful completion of this program can be used to satisfy the entry requirements of a number of University programs. We have structured the program to maximise credits available. Graduates of the Diploma of Business Studies may apply for up to 80 credit points towards an undergraduate degree in any of the following universities:
QUT, Griffith University, James Cook University, Australian Catholic University, Bond University, Central Queensland University, La Trobe University, University of Sunshine Coast, University of Southern Queensland.
